i dont want to go that far down
just the the top of the wheel like
just so it looks lowered

so do you think it would work then or not

When you think about prepping, welding and painting the new panels, and lest face it you're looking at re-spraying both front wings and most of, if not all, the rear quarter, so say about ?400.... and a set of half decent springs and shocks you can pick up for around ?200.

it can be done, but as it has been said it would look much better if u just lowered the car

had a thought just now
at the moment i have 14inch standard wheels on and it looks like this on the back

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/lee.jones5153/DSC30025.JPG

its low so
ive had a thought that if i put 17 on it will rise the car 3 inch
am i correct in thinking this
if so
i have 3 inch to lower it cant i
so if i get the wheels and then lower it 60 all round it should still be at the same height as what it was with the standard 14`s on

is this correct[/url]

if you think about it i think im right that it will only raise it 1 1/2 inch because there bolted on half way up the rim i think im right correct me if im wrong :?

No, like totalnova says, it is the radius of the wheel that matters. As the diamater is an extra 3 inchs, it the top of the wheel will be 1.5 inchs higher, and the bottom will be 1.5inchs lower. Seen as the height of the car does not depends on the height of the top of the wheel, it will just be 1.5 inches higher.
