Sorry mate, cant see what fitting new injectors has to do with changing your gearbox! :?

i just got told that the extra power could blow the origonal sri box?????

i dont think you have anything to worry about with an extra bhp or two cacking up the gear box!

you cant put those injectors in your car. It will overfuel all the time.

You CANNOT put higher flow rate injectors on an engine unless you tell the ECU the new flow rate. As your ecu is not programmable, you cant do it.

So to consider this on a 1.6 8v would you need the injectors, the ECU ,and the AFM unit of the 2.0 8v 130?? if you got all that fited to the 1.6 8v would it do anything??...some one let me know on this, thanks.

scott :)

WHAT> you cant fit the ecu from a 2.0 to your 1.6. like i said already. You need a PROGRAMABLE ecu. like MDB of Pectel of something like that. Anyway, the engine will never need as much fuel as the 130 injectors will supply. so i wouldn't even bother thinking about it. Speak to Bosch and find some injectors that have the same flow rate as the GHT ones but a wider spray pattern. Get the part number and then find out what car they are from. Then go down the scrappy, and get them from there. I suspect you might find something of use in a ford zetec.

I found the standard 1.6 GTE/GSi Injectors were good for about 160bhp then they were maxed out... So unless anyone is thinking of running more power than this (which is highly unlikely unless you have a Turbo) the standard Injectors are fine.

even then you could over come that problem by using a fifth injector mapped on it's own ecu. this would be cheaper than getting full engine management and would solve the problem of underfueling at high boost.

if the car had a lambda probe it would eventually learn how to run the new higher flow injectors properly

whats the point in putting higer flow rate injectors in if the ecu is just gunna cut down the flow rate to be exactly what it was before?

you want injectors with a better spray pattern NOT a higher flow rate.

That is the only answer there is. if you dont believe me, call any motorsports company. you can fit higher flow injectors without a mappable ecu.

yea i changed my injectors on my Gsi 4 Cava sri ones and they run fine, but i changed then cause i needed to replace them cause 1 stopped working!

Runs fine, no extra power though
