dont need a cat on a K reg. Replace it with a straight section.

of course but its not easy on a 1.2i ule need to ramap the ecu, i suppose u could let some air in after the throttle butterfly, altering the stochimetric ratio....but then the lamda would correct that, so its not easy!

U don't need a cat, my nova's a K reg and i aint got a cat.

Apparently none of the nova's are listed on the Ministary Of Transport as needing a cat.

I have also got a question instead of starting a new topic. Do all 1.4SRi have a CAT, i know they are all multi-point injection and some have a cat, but do all of them have one. And am i right in thinking that all cars manufacutred after 31st July(i think was the month), 1992 need a cat to pass the MOT.
Well K reg was 1992 so do some K reg 1.2i/1.4sri need a CAT fitted(MOT purposes) or do people just replace them with a straight through centre section and pass the MOT.
Cheers

yes thats true so even tho technically its from august 92 onwards in the case of nvoas they cant be tested udner cat regulations cause they are not listed on the system for cat tests :D

A CAT restricts power dunnit, so if the CAT is binned the power should increase. On a 1.4SRi the standard BHP is around 80BHP, with the CAT.

Would your insurance company wanna know if you binned the CAT.

Cheers again Will

So, basically the 82bhp standard SRI is robbed of power by the CAT.

And you should tell the insurance company cus it increases performance but
" i don't even know what a CAT is mate" LOL :D
