got c16se started last night, i knew it, it was the crank sensor even the new 1 didnt work unless it was litrally touching the pully, and to do this i has to cut off its locating pin so it would pivot, as its not adjustable (im good i know).
thing is the bottom end is knockin cos the oil pump is only on 1 bar (on digi dash) and sometimes goes on red.. but ive just rebuilt the bottom end but opted not to change the pump. always the way isnt it!

50 quid + the vat on a pump, or would it be less hasle to get a new engine?????

yu are joking, the work youve just done!!! Keep what you've got but change pump. Otherwise, if you get a new engine, you might end up cjanging the pump on that aftr37.34 miles

no not jokin its ordered 2, 130 quid delivered next day, its worth it just 4 spares... the bottom end did sound nasty.. but the main reason is because ive stripped the thread out with on of the head bolts, i could use a helicoil i know, but 4 130? u cant argue! plus its smokin as i didnt change the valve seals, i have them but if i take the head off one more time it will crumble with fatique.

ive already spent 170 on parts, another 50 quid plus the vat 4 a oil pump which i will buy and fit, then test.. but im still buyin the spare engine tho..bargain

oh i though you weren't gunna fix yours soz. Didn't realise the engine was for spares. That makes even more sense!

You could spend a bit of money preparing the spare engine to race spec. you can take as long as you need cos it doesn't mean your car will be off the road

but im doin that to a valver at the minute cant afford to rebuit 2 at once...
especially when i get quoted 102 quid for a set of rings. and 40 quid 4 a head set (without bolts)! the 8v prices were half that. i will sort a nice head out for the 1.6 tho to go with the 4 branch n kent nvo62 cam n stuff...
