My gsi engine is smoking like a bastard when i rev it past about 4000 and when i pull away and nail it loads of smoke pours out the back. When just driving along every now and then or when changing gear a puff of blue smoke comes out. Today my mate took it to the limiter and a load of black smoke came out then he reved it as it was reving down and a big flame spat out!
Is this the valve stem oil seals? How easy are they to change?
Any advice will be greatly appreciated
Cheers

if you get blue smoke on the "run down" or down shifting then it will be the seals.

its a head off job, unless you have a few trick tools lol
