i bought a fish tank last night!
i was tryin 2 put a pic of my fish tank up with my pirhanna Reg but the batteries have gone flat ill put it when i get some more

nah cold water is 48 hours max. But what happens when you clean them out and put new water in? you cant leave them on the floor for a week while the water settles. cos the cat would eat them. I've put the chemicals in to neutralise the chlorine in the water and the white spot treatment. The filter has been running since tuesday night and everything was boil washed before putting in the tank anyway. they WIL NOT die as i have a ?50 bet riding on it!
u should clean the filter out in the origional water that its in
in order not 2 kill the bacteria in the pump
u should only do a 25% water change 2

they grow 2 the size of footballs apperently

main foods haddock\cod from asda but some times prawns muscles crab sticks ox heart, liver chicken
any meat really
even live gold fish used to do this when r lass wernt in she didnt agree with it lol
but dont do live food now to much risk of givin them an infection

they were the size of a 50p coin i was ripped off a bit i think but am plzed i got them
there well easier to look after than tropicals
ne tropical fish place should be able to get em might have to order them
unless u get em from a place in donny or barton but thats near me and a bit of a trek for u id imagine

red bellied ones like mine art 2 agresive they used to go 4 are lass and me little lad when they put there hand up against the tank but i have my hand in the tank all the time and never had a problem
the only thing that i did do was drop the light transformer in the water and stuck me hand in 2 get it with out thinkin and got a right belt
u can get fruit pirhannas called paku
silver dollars are pirhannas with out teeth and can go in tropical tanks altho they do nip fins
black pirhanna are very nasty and not recomended for puttin u hand in the tank
gold pirhanna hunt at night so u cant put ur hand in when its dark
diamond ar rare and worth a bob or 2
when my tropicals die am gettin a puffer fish or a black pirhanna
also paku grow to the size of a dust bin lid
and are considered very tasty lol
Maybe i wont get the paku then, id like the idea of adding some to the ones i have already cheers for the advice matey

also did u know neon tetras them fish that have blue neons on them
are from the pirhanna family
I had me 7 of those thingys and the Siamese (sp?) fighting fish, that was horrible used to kill my other fish
my male fighter was mint he was well friendly used to come up and feed from my hand
i also had crabs (snigger) in my tank and me pirhanna tank they used 2 try eaten em but thought cant be arsed :lol:
newts are good in trpoical tanks 2 the one i had used 2 sit on me hand but he died like me fighter

Oh well, Mine was to aggressive it was suggested we put female fighting fish in there but it still used to kill other ones, i have quite a big tiger fish now its well nice,
u can get a cream for crabs u know :?
wish some 1 had told me earlier ive shaved off all my pubes in an effort to get rid of them :o :lol:
