GTE/GSI in a 1.4 SR

This has pobly bin asked loads b4, but wot would i need to upgrade to stick a 1.6 and my SR??

If its a carbed SR and not SRi you'll need all the injection stuff and fuel tank

well i'm about to undertake the same conversion during may hopefully :+:It partly depends on what you want to be running on the GTE engine, twin carbs or the injection system when it comes to wiring and fuel tanks. The twin carbs will not require an ECU or injection spec tank and pump to run so is easy, but expensive, injection will require the wiring of the ECU, the changing of tank and pump too, but will be better in this weather I expect :arrow:

what kind of engine are yo utalking about the GTE 1.6 8v or de modern 16v if it is i can tell you that in the car shop near me they didnt chage de reservoir of the car it's the same!! im talkin abaout a nova SR 1.3 to a engine of GSI 1.6 8v

you'll want the f13 gear box all the injection stuff off the GTE, fuel tank ect... apart from that it will bolt straight in.

He's saying if you don't want to mess about changing the fuel tank and installing an ECU then you can ditch the engine's injection system and bolt on some carburettors... might as well get webers or dellortos whilst you're there :wink:

I'd like to do an engine swap on mine, but its having the time available to do it.... and i'm not gonna pay a garage ?shedloads to do a job i could have a go at myself (my dads an ex-mechanic so i'm hoping he'll give me a few pointers!!). Looking for either 1.4SR or 1.6 8v engine. When i have the money lol

Do all Nova GTE's and GSI's have an F13 box?

And do SRi's?

I know its said that vaux have mixed and matched but they wouldn't put an F10 in GTE/GSI would they?
