yeah they are; very very quick. but very very expensive. plus after doing one don't think they'll want to do another... its gotta be a lot of work.

I would rather a 200BHP NA 1600 16v anyday.

i know i bang on about velos, but there the only "tuned cars" ive had the pleasure of experiencing to their max. oh and chris T 200bhp 2litre :o 8)

there 1600 16v on throttle bodies was around 190bhp IIRC

and that was something special ill tell you that - an experience ill never forget in a hurry.

depends if you like the vr00000m TTSSshhhh

or the induction noise of TB.

when Rob wound the TBs up boy did they sing.

theres a few 1.6 16v turbo's about costs about 3k to build a 200bhp example with mappable management and t3 turbo and proper lowered compression. can be done for less really but its just down to luck with the parts needed.

they are becoming more and more common as they arent that difficult to insure.

Yeah Dicko I saw (and Heard) that Tigra at that Midnight racing cruise at Donnington before Christmas. It had an Awesome sounding Wastegate!

Isn't the Corsa OPC a 1.6 16v Turbo? Thought vaux had plans to release the engine into a Corsa gsi turbo or something.... Altho thet'll probably cost a fair bit to get your hands on

it was decided the new corsa gsi will either be another 1.6 16v or if they do a turbo it will be a 2 litre not a 1600.

you can build your own decent reliable 1.6 16v for around 2-3k which i think is quite good for 200bhp or more along with low comp pistons, and mappable ecu also it will be quite well torqued and also well weighted keeping the handling nice
