baby wont start :(

Right, i put a for sale sign on the back of my car last week and then, surprise surprise, it started fucking up.

It turns over but makes a sort of coughing / breathing noise. Ive started it once or twice with time and a battery charger but it does the same again the next morning. I cleaned the carb and air filter on saturday, cleaned the plugs on sunday and adjusted the timing and it was spot on, started first try, then this morning, bask to square one, i realise that it could be a number of things but just wondering is any1 has had a similar problem.

is it parked on grass or pointing into wind as this will drive moisture into dizzy cap causing miss fire take it off and dry it to death

i had wondered if i was sum sort of damp problem as it started when i parked my car on the gravel on my drive but it still happens when its just parked on the drive. I got it to start again today after i got home, bumpstarted it perfectly fine, was missing for 2 mins but then it cleared up fine. Would that be a symptom of moisture in the dizzy? When i took it off to check it the other day it didnt seem noticabley wet. Im never talking about selling a car again when the car in question is within earshot lol. Always happens
