increasing power!!

What would be a good way to increas the power of my 2.0 8v engine in my nova? i already have a hand made system(my own hands), with original manifold n downpipe, k&N filter with loadsa air going to it.

would a kent cam be good for exceleration, chipped.... and what else?? head ported n polished?

gimme ideas, cos the car iowes me practically nothing as i do my own work n source my own stuff! i wanna speen a little on it!

Kent cam would give you a little bit more power nothing spectacular though full exhaust system,chip,induction kit NOS :lol:

piper cams do a cam for the sri 130 that takes it to 150bhp and gives it SHITE loads of extra torque.

I've got 2ltr 8v engine, cav sri 130. its been ported and polished and i think its had a new cam in it, not sure what tho, i recnelty brought a 4-2-1 manifold from ashly for ?160 which inlcudes delivery to anywhere in UK, also having a full custom exhaust, got air filter.

Cant wait to see the results of it.

I've got the sri 130 in my purple nova and it has so much low down torque. I sometimes prefer driving that over the 2.0 turbo.

when u say its got so muchy torque do u mean it pulls more then the turbo or a 16v? If the 16v has 20bhp more then the sri 130 wouldn;t that be faster?
not sure how it figures out.

torque and power are different things

the only time you will notice how much bhp you have is at top end. the more bhp the higher the top end. bhp has nothing directly to do with acceleration. But it is loosely linked to torque. Torque is the ability of the engine to pull a load. The higher the torque the more it can pull overall or the quicker it can pull a given load.

The turbo has more torque than the 8v but you have to wait for the turbo to kick in over 3500 revs. The torque in the 8v is right dwon the bottom 2000-4000 revs

go for a set of 45s mate. i had a ported and skimmed head full race cam vernier pully overbored throttle body k+n and zorst and it only gave me 5 bhp. i then put a pair of carbs on it and its gone to 160 bhp :o

the injection is shite so get rid of it.

you cant go wrong with a nice set of dirty carbs on it, maybe some 45's
