OK, so I got a hold of the inlet + carb, bolted it on, but I have the following problems

1. The throttle cable linkage is very different - instead of the pop-snap fit, I now need a bicycle brake lever type stud?? I've tried wedging the old cable in, just to get running, but its revving way too high. What should I do to fix it?
2. There is no additional coolant feed for the auto choke from the my nova - can I just leave this disconnected?
3. Will I need to re-jet the carb to suit the 1.2 engine?
4. The old choke cable is 'hanging' What do I do with it?

Going for a beast of a 1.2 here - n2o will eventually arrive (home made of course!!)

Can anyone help??

Thanks
Damian

Hi mate did the same to my old 1.2- You'll have to get an sr accelerator cable, easy to fit but dont go to the vauxhall dealer coz they want 35quid for one! You've gotta plum in the auto choke coz otherwise it wont know the engine temp. and be able to adjust the choke-you need 2 t-junctions and some water hosing and you need to conect it to the inlet and outlet pipes that go in and out of the heater matrix-connect them to the in and out pipes of the auto choke. sounds complex but its not too bad. with mine the choke adjusts itself, didnt need setting up and you can adjust the tick-over. Hope that lot helped!

Wahey! A reply!

Can I buy the throttle cables from halfords? I'll be miffed if I can't get it all set up and done tomorrow.

Off to get another (!) K&N on monday - Fecking hell should have waited till I got my new carb!

Would Bicycle brake cables do?

Looking at the linkages etc, it looks like they would.

Worth a bash for a fiver I reckon! Not a big fan of scrappers - no refunds!!
