wen i turn hard left theres sumtimes a grating sound, it coudl be catchin a tiny bit on the arch, but i think it mite be the alternator scrapin against the right hand inner chasis due to the lack of space in the engine bay itself, anybody else had this problem with valvers??
thanx ]

Ive got just the same problem... Sounds just like tyres rubbing, so i raised my coilovers right up! Still doing it, so had a good look and sure enough altenator is just catching on chassis, im gonna let it wear for a bit then buy some new mounts... hoping that that will solve problem, then im lowerin gmy coil overs right back down

Needs to be sorted. If it is just an 8v then you can do it by taking the alternator and throttle body off and carefully rearrangeing it with a hammer.

Preparing for a valver conversion,
been recommended to use poly bushes, will this increase vibration ?

Are brand new rubber ones be a better choice ?

the stiffer the mounts the more vibration inside the car. But mine are stiff as fuck but i'll glad. 225bhp needs to be held in place firmly

I'm thinking of running my xe standard,
do you think new gm rubber mounts will be ok ?

Would I need Xe rubbers, or Nova ones ?
will be using Mounts from Valvers.com

my old scrappy valver used to rub. well it did for two days untill it was found that the chassis leg was moving in on the engine then it snapped
luckly the bonnet wing and strut brace held her together is to get it home. thshe was 2 inchs lower on drivers side and bonnet was pushed up two inchs where turret and leg hd come up wards

its all good stuff

Had you strengthened the chassis at all?

The little ally tube is a "anti-crush" spacing tube,
it's to stop the outer spacer plate from bending towards the diff.

Spoke to Brian regarding instructions,
made him write them all out  ,

That's what I was planning, but I'm a bit concerned about the vibration
from stiffer mounts, comments from anyone with poly bushes in their XE Nova.......

to avoid massive vibes only use the 2 front mounts... i'm using all 3 cause i don't care

i've got poly all round on LET and the vibration is huge but i just turn the stereo up and blame it on that!
