shaky steering wheel

ive got a gsi and weneva i start to reach high sppeds the steering wheel starts to shake. Any ideas?

tracking, mine does that, but not that badly, i gota get my tracking sorted, wheel balancing also.....

wheel balancing, warped discs etc. lots of possible reasons lol

What wheels do you have?

there the standard gsi wheels, the discs have slight lip so could be them!

could well be the discs mate...

you wouldnt really notice warped discs (obviously it depends on how warped there are) but generally you wouldnt until higher speeds.

mine does this but its more when braking from high speeds (pain in the arse).

or like others have said check tracking, balancing of wheels and you could also check the bearings while your there.

when i back off the throttle the front end vibrates, on cornering the same happens, what could this be???

Could be knackered shocks, mine used to wobble around a bit. Put on the spax kit and it was smooth as a.... well, something smooth.
