i had avo adjustable shocks and -60mm springs, allows you to change how hard /soft you want so can choose the ride you want. Handled very well on them, i think they were something like ?300 for shocks an springs.
I've got spax RSX (adjustable) and they're pretty good, tough ride and handle well. Had to swap the springs on the back tho coz the wheels scrubbed with weight on the back (but i got wheels on et38). Got mine for about ?250 i think off ebay.
has any1 fitted them themselves? how hard was it?

Not yet, but i am going to. It looks piss easy, you just need a set of spring compressors.
Theres a guide somewhere, its from here or someone else but i got to it from www.nova-land.com
Then you just need to get the tracking re alligned
yep, its a pretty easy job. Back end is just a case of jack up and unbolt a few things... front end you'll want to get the wheels off to give yourself a bit of room to play in, again just a case of undoing a few bolts really. Using the spring compressors can be a bit of an arse (just make sure you don't get a spring in the face...) I followed the haynes manual for this and got on fine.
