which accident is this?
Where are you getting the custom exhaust from, and are you getting a single exit pipe (oh er.. lol)?

Neil.
19-02-04, 12:19 AM
Alex its the one that happend in August last year, taken this long to get sorted out!
Not saying where Custom exhaust is from as i hate ppl commenting about stuff, samne as where i got manifold from. but ive seen his work and the 4 meter long steel he uses and having it for around ?250 for 2 quarter inch bore.
Having just a simpe 3 inch oval to go in cut out in my bumper.

i still cant believe you didnt bother to paint the engine bay :?

i remeber you had pictures of a chrome cam cover but i dont see the point when the engine bay is still red.

even a few coats of black or purple out of a can would have been better than red

in the flesh purple / red combo dosent look alllllll that bad

2litreturbo
23-02-04, 01:40 AM
it may not look bad, but it will never look as good as a nice gloss paint the same colour as the rest of the car!

Thats only my opion though.

Neil.
23-02-04, 02:35 AM
the engine bay is getting painted, so shut up!

2litreturbo
23-02-04, 02:36 AM
when sit's done you'll be glad.

Neil.
23-02-04, 02:40 AM
tell me about it purplenova,
Maybe the fact i haven't put the chrome rocker cover, strut brace, inlet manifold, header tank, brake resivoiur coloured hoses show that im gettin the bay painted then adding the stuff.

Try asking you lot before making accusations!

2litreturbo
23-02-04, 02:50 AM
no accusations made. Just said it will look better when it's painted. :?

Neil.
23-02-04, 02:57 AM
oh purple nova i wasn;t having a dig at you, in was talking to the three main people that insist on taking the p!ss about it, just because ive not done it the way they would, you see, we all have to do it their way so that they feel special!

2litreturbo
23-02-04, 03:01 AM
if we all did everything the same way nothing would look good. It would all look normal. And i am not going to waste my money making my car look 'normal'

I'm on your side :D

Neil.
23-02-04, 03:11 AM
ta purple nova, its just that the 'best' thing to of done would of been to get engine bay srpayed while engine was out, but some times the 'best' way isn't always the case,

We all do it how we want, if i want to do it in two stages then let it be, dont have to follow suit do we!

2litreturbo
23-02-04, 03:21 AM
NAH. When i put my 8v in it all had be done in two days. That is take the old engine out sat morning and drive it by four sunday. so i swaped the engine and thought 'ill do the paint when i get time'

dave.gsi
23-02-04, 02:21 PM
so you've spent like a month fitting the engine. only to take it all out again to paint the bay, then your gonna put it all back in again.

good thinking :+:

Neil.
24-02-04, 12:55 AM
I retract wat i said as it was rude.
