What method did you use to join the new plugs to the old loom?
I was gonna use solder but have heard that it gets brittle with age and that causes dry joints :?
Thanks in advance

I had mk2 dash in my re-shell but my loom was GTE...

Solder the wires and use heat shrink afterwards. The only way it will become brittle etc is if the wiring is bent and twisted around, because solder is not flexible. Every panel/board inside your PC will have at least one soldered joint (usually wave soldered which ISN't as good as hand-soldered) and it's quite rare if it's done pro[erly.

Heat shrink keeps the wiring tight together minimising the chances of a dry joint disrupting connection

Oh and I am BEng in Electronics and Electrical engineering so my advice is sound

also when soldering dont blow the solder to make it dry quicker as that causes moister in ur breath to get in the solder
