If u was going to by a 2ltr nova would having all the reciepts to all new bits help u make a decision?
Just sorted out my paper work and got all reciepts together that ive spent in the engine bay.
just curoius if anyone else keeps their reciepts.

Although iv lost all my reciepts :roll:
Got reciepts of all brand new parts. 2nd hand parts that iv ordered i still have the delivery slip! other bits are non reciept, like stuff off ben e.t.c
Bought a few 2.0l novas now, it dosent matter who fits them and what recipts you have.
One we bought was professionally fitted but was awful, another we have was fitted by the owner and a much beter job than the othe one.
The main selling point though is the amount of Valves :!:

How would u knwo it has new parts or has been rebuilt? other the physical apperence of parts.
Just thought it helps selling points.

i have a box full of recipts... means fuck all when it comes down to it but proves belt changes etc... also i write the mileage on the recipts when the stuff was bought

The way you value cars like thios are kind off like this...
1.2 shell (wich has been wrote off 3 times)- ?100 if clean
2.0 8v engine- ?100
Lowering kit- ?50-100
Wheels-?
Your car is an odd colour so things like bumpers/doors/panels are worth half the standard prices.
If i was coming to buy your car i would offer you ?300-350 maximum.
I know its worth a lot more to you, but its your idea of a modded car no one elses.

lmao want a list of foolish things....
1. Taking naked pics of your girlfriend then hosting them.
2. Paying ?1200 for a set of wheels then kerbing them.
3. Fitting a 2.0l 8v engine
4. Buying a set of 28 Spline shafts when people told you they were wrong.
5. Buying a Brand new set of 28 spline shafts after already being stung once.
6. Changing your user name to the same a someone elses then moaning that theres someone else with the same user name.
7. Changing your user name because you get embarressed when people take the piss out off you about point number 1.
8 Changing your user name to NIN.
9. Considering selling your car when you havent even finished fitting the engine.

i've got a big boxfile of receipts old mot's old tax discs, service sheets, and an old mot failure sheet.

sometimes the Novaload poster formerly known as Nova Neil (or n0va, Sheep_dip etc) you really do set yourself up for having the piss taken something rotten..
Try not being so "honest" with the issues your facing during the conversion. Either that or think things through and have all parts ready and waiting Even tho the temptation is to "jump in". When starting my 1600 twin Weber conversion, i made sure i had all i needed (bar sundry hose clips that you can get from anywhere).

nah its not that, i started it becoz i had the money and only thing left was driveshafts, i had 3 possible sources to get them from, they all failed, and latest place they sent the wrong ones out. So NOT my fualt what so ever.
The 2ltr engine has been sat in my garage for the oast 8 months so ive not rushed into it at all.
Just get fed up of people asuming ive not thought about it, i aint gonna bother any more, not if people like ben are going to be picky about it.
Just thought some people might be interested how i've got on, obviously not.
Pack it in Neil. or I'll give you a slap.
Some of are interested, and understand why things go like they do, some don't!
I like my saloon, most don't but personally I couldn't give a flying f**k as it is what I like and want that matters.
Personally, I hope that someday soon I have the guts to take my car off the road and start my conversions, but time, money and a nagging feeling of 'will it go right' will keep me from doing it for a little while longer.

neil just perservier (sp) with the job in hand. the more you listen to what people say the more distracted you are going to get. so just get on with it.
when the car is finished. you will be the one smileing, so just let the comments go over your head.
as for the reciepts issue, i agree with ben. it really wont make difference really. it'll prove what you have spent, but in all honesty a car dealership wont care and unless you are into your cars, no one else will.
no one will care if you have paid 10k doing this and that. they'll just want the cheapest price.
but i would keep the reciepts only for the issue of any problems.
