Ive got a K&N on a weber 32/34 and Ive had one on a Pierburg standard jobbie, also had one on a 1.2
K&N are good.

Never had any experience with PiperX sorry! think they are cheaper tho!

I got piperX and tested it on a rolling road with it on or off. It showed no resistance to airflow. Only thing is with mine it split along a glued seam when it got soaked in Petrol. Socks wouldn't have this problem but I didn't have enuff room for them.

I bought a K&N yesterday for my 1.4sr and fitted it yesterday afternoon, Im really pleased with it, it souns good and it definately gives the car more pull !!!
Go for the K&N, it looks better than a pipercross as well.
