Im thinking of getting a F28 gearbox for my 2.0 16v. I currently have a F20. Would it just bolt straight on or will I need a different mount?

Cheers

new mount on passenger side... also no gain on standard 2.0 16v... more weight... no extra go

I just want it for the 6th gear for motorway driving. Where can I get the mount from?

maybe just to keep the revs low at slow speed. save money and petrol.

Do you have a LET in your nova? If you do i would think of fitting one, if you have a XE in your car there is no point at all. If anything it would raise your fuel consumption as it has higher transmission losses due to the fact the gearbox is built from stronger components that are heavier and therefore harder to turn. yes but you ar lugging round an extra 20kgs of weight

if you want a higher 5th then use an f16 e-drive box as fitted on some cavs.... same 5th as f28 6th

have a look on the top of the gearbox, around where the selector goes into the box-the type of box, eg F20, or F16 will be clearly seen stamped onto the box
