does anyone use one of the cav gear shifter things? where the linkage runs through the inside of the car?

is there any benefit?

and is it easy enough to do?

id like pull up reverse and also i like the look of the shifter etc etc.

if there sno benefits ill s0d it tho

hey mike stealing my idea :@

best using a corsa setup far as i know and found out so far.

you need to weld a plate over the hole where ur existing setup goes. then the corsa unit goes on top. you need to make a hole for the rod to go out the front. basically there is 1 less pivot point i belive which reduces slop and the amount of movement between gears.

Think AustinNova runs a Cav gear setup on his valver, might be worth a look :)

Bacically, if your retaining the nova mech, then the hole needs to be cut in the area around the seam at the bottom of the bulkhead (looking from the inside).

I thought it gave mine a much better feel.

mike actually though of this whilest we were doing my 2ltr 8v conversion. we were flipping the half of the caverlier over on its roof, he then sat there wobbling the gear stick around, going, hummmmmmmm, i just looked at him very strange!

ste is that the way you are modifying the linkage to have an engine in the back.

also ive been looking into this idea as the nova linkage as crap and looking at the cavy linkage it looks loads simpler as the lever has one bar from it that goes right to the box linkage
