Youll need to use high temperature resistant paint or whatever its called

are u sure about the paint cracking off.
two of my mates have there header tanks spayed so they fade into each other, one with flip paint. Neither have craked yet.
Header tank doesn't get as hot as rocker cover. alloy rocker helps dissipate heat....

most standard acrylic paint will handle about 150c
the rocker cover aint gonna get any hotter than the oil/coolant (ie 80-100c) so i recon you will be ok

should be fine if u take it back to bare metal, use an etch primer to take to the bare ally then top coat with chosen cover and lacquer and polish, job done
The bodyshop used plasticyzzer on mine to stop it cracking with expansion/contraction. Lasted 3 years...
I have a spare rocker cover if anyone wants to buy it (c20xe) for a spray job.
Offers??

All my rocker covers have been painted with normal car body paint and none of them have ever blistered and thats with the heat of the LET in the bay as well. Rick
