well iv put carpet underlay ALL OVER the place lol. cant be afording proper sound deadening matt.
u cud use fiberglass mate
or even foam filler spray stuff shud be in wicks
or just be dead sly, go into the loft and take some loft insulation. apparently that works too!

sounds good
how do you use the foam stuff epo
just a thin layer on the bottom
yeah, just spray it around the area. but be very aware. it doubles or even triples in its size. but once hardened it can be cut with a stanley knife.

thanks mate
does this defo make a good deadning
cant see why not we use it to fill big cracks in walls and stuff like that
its not going to be the best, but as its like the same principle as double glazing (ie foam filler is catching heat/noise lose inbetween the air pockets) it will drastically reduce the amount of road noise. as for the filler making it sound better, it should do. as the bass will not travel directly to the metal surface, thus reducing the amount of panel movement.
i would def recomend the loft insulation too.
down side is.....
mot time. you will find a screwdriver will be rammed into all over checking for rust.
other down sides are it itches like a bitch and smells of fish and piss (or maybe thats just the lofts ive worked in  )
LOL. ewww. dosnt that expandable foam stuf actly like glue as well though? iv heard its a baich tro try and get off??
i think ill just stick wih carpet underlay

Roofing felt does the job to.
Would carpet underlay/roofing felt be ok to use behind the dash and generally all over the place? I'm putting a mk2 dash in my saloon soon, and want to make it nice and quiet inside (tis a bit noisy in there at the mo!) so thought it would make sense to soundproof most of it at the same time. Any suggestions for best places to put soundproofing stuff would be appreciated as well...
