Wet footwell

jumped in my car this morning and my drivers side footwell was soaking wet. so I checked the passenger side, it was damp but no where near as bad as my side. it had been raining but that aint right is it!

anything I can check?

Water pipes that go in / out of the heater matrix, if there's a crack on them (even a hairline one that you can barely see) it'll leak, you'll be able to tell if it's them because the heaters won't work too well.
Or check for leaks through the bulkhead / battery tray and have a look at the bottom of the windscreen rubber (the corners in particular).

my money is on a rotten battery tray.


take the battery out and see the drivers pedels ;)

if it is the tray (WHICH I reckon it will be), get it welded up. remember to use loads of damp rags on the inside to protect all of the goodies under the dash. then get a portable heater, stick it inside, open the windows slightly, and dry it out. to stop it happening again, buy a battery tray liner, gm part no. v0090321096 for ?2.87+vat (I bought one last week)
