Yeah, basically any motor that moves up/down will do the job, you just need to think about the linkages in order to release the boot lock.

what i have tryed today is a cav central locking motor from the boot
it goes direct to where it pulls the lever to open the boot
i think it might be lacking power to pull it
sometimes it will open and other times it wont
so what i then did was put some oil in the lock to make it loser becouse it seemed to be quite stiff
just tried it now and it opens every second time
e.g i press the button once and nothin
the second time it opens
im hoping that the oil will make it more easy for the motar to open it
i was just wandering if i can buy a new one from somewhere without buying the whole kits that are avalible(the motor that is with more power)

I used the solenoid from an xr2i, works fine.

my boot release now works fine
i took the lock out and left in 3 in 1 oil for a few days
it seems to have got rid of all the crap that was in there a left it much more smoother to open than before

thanks guys for your help
