Topic is best "show Nova". Surely Brett Warburtons should be in this category? The attention to detail is amazing. May not have a huge bodykit on it, but the quality of the finish is amazing.

I see where slimjim coming from but surely best show nova has to be Karl Rowntree's?

The attention to detail is greater even than Brett's IMO cos he's kept so much "nova" in the car......

My opinion...

True, fair comment Rick, Karls Nova is very nice.

Everyones going to have thier own opinion of what should be a "show car". I think PNG (or whaterver the groups called now) were planning on having different categories for car of the show. i.e: best restored original car, and best modified car. It's nice to see a clean original example, but I always enjoy seeing modified cars.

Laugh all you want, but that car is what re-ignited the Nova scene and got a lot of people into wanting to modify them again. Before that car appeared on the front cover of Revs, interest in them was dying out. Apart from the 'ethusiasts' who keep re-spraying the same standard nova on spedlines every year.

I've never seen it in the metal, and have been told it was very shoddy, BUT it was one of my favourite nova's of all time and what made me carry on modifying mine rather than sell it and move on to something else.

WTF is that ''cossworth killers .com'' is all about though!? lol

PNG make me laugh with there catergories, how can you have a car in the "concourse" section with 2.0l 16v with roll cage entered into it!

Not denying there awesome cars but there not concourse.

karl Rowntree
02-02-04, 07:01 PM
Hence why the category was called "modified" Ben

I think the Kingdom Nova was and still is Awesome!!! As mentioned it put the Nova back on the map as "The Modders choice" for a Hot Hatch..... Until the explosion of the Paxo.......sorry Saxo

I love Original Novas, but I also have a lot of respect for people who try and make theres different and stand out from the crowd....

At the end of the day its personnel choice, and people shouldn't rubbish them so quickly...... Unless there really g@y and have a Motorsport sunstrip, Chrome three spoke Hubcaps and Max Power stickers.....

P1nky made folk that like sticking fiberglass tat onto cars realise that the nova was still an option rather than the paxo. imo

I hated the P1NKY vehicle (and K's, and RJ Developments and all the other big jap kitted cars) but they do look good in a magazine or at a show. I prefer the standard look with subtle mods but let's be honest, you can get bored!

Be straight though.... a nice resprayed nova on speedlines is like HEIDI KLUM-Beautiful to look at.

A kingdom kitted nova is like Jordan. Undeniably eye-catching and awe-inspiring but ultimately totally false!

I still like looking though

I take it you like number plates?!
last couple of posts I've looked at you have referred to cars as Reg plates and your name is a Reg Plate...

Lol

that pinky looks mad though...cant get much more eye-catching than that really imo...which I think is good

rob_wilkinson
03-02-04, 05:05 PM
ive seen pinky up front and checked over it and i can tell you now it is well bodged and wouldnt drive well and wouldnt take a little bump on a street. however i absolutely love it. its my inspiration and i thinks its mint. why do the people who prefer and build subtle styled novas slate kitted novas so much while kitted nova owners respect and praise subtle novas. at the end of the day you only build the car to how you want it or it wouldnt be worth doing.

Ben

In that case there was only one concourse nova there and no wonder he had so many trophies if hes the only one entering that class.

Actually Karl i need to ask you something about PNG or PCC will PM you soon!!!

RJM25R
03-02-04, 10:29 PM
Barney, it's the easiest way to remember which car it is!

My actual name is RJM 25R I changed it by depoll after seeing a blue reliant robin with that plate that used to drive near me, you know the 3 wheeler type. After it was destroyed in a street race with a milk float that went tragically wrong i bought it and reshelled it into a Nova using the identity of the robin so i could use the plate.

So now you all know, I broke my nova because it was in fact a robin.

Hope this clears it up!

Rick

It was meant to be all the novas along the middle of the hall that were standard and the first two lines were the modified.

But i get what you mean ben, because even the standard cars have now been modded!

Sometimes wish i had a golf! those buys know the score when it comes to concourse

Speak to you soon then ben.

I hated the P1NKY vehicle (and K's, and RJ Developments and all the other big jap kitted cars)

Agree with the P1NKY - Thought it was the best in the world when it first came out, then realised that it wasn't (Except the engine and interior which are nice) and then I noticed the wonky bit in the front bumper, and now I see ALL the TypeK front bumpers are like it so it's obvious to me that the mould wasn't made properly (or someone never measured it right!!).
As for the RJ automotive, the blue one I actually quite like, if you look at some parts of the car they do look good, smaller recessed rear numberplate surround on tailgate (A'la Ian Storey) and the skirts being smooted into the rear arches etc etc, not keen on the front bumper but that's just me been a fussy fuck_er!!

RJM25R
04-02-04, 09:56 AM
As i said on my post, I like to look at them but I wouldn't have a jap kitted european car....

If I wanted "orimental" style I'd buy a jap rocket....

oh...

errrr,

I forgot then...

(adopts a Jeremy clarkson pause and then overstates loudly)

BUT I ALREADY HAVE!!
