Magnex exhaust modifying?

Ok, i have been running my 1.6 gte engined nova on a magnex stainless for a while, it didnt quite have the sound i was looking for so i had a large 4 inch can fitted by my local custom exhaust place.

It sounds much better, alot deeper etc, but i have been wondering what would happen if i got them to remove the 2 silencers from the center section.

Has anybody done this themselfs?

I was considering maybe even removing one of them as there is a long one and a short one and seeing how that affects the sound?

Any info you guys have on this would be great.


(ps im not looking for any more power, just sound, and if modifying the center section would reduce torque in anyway i will leave it as is!)

i removed the front one and sold the back box for a straight through pipe
i was told 2 keep the cherry bomb one as it was what created the deep noise
ive had no probs and sonds mint
passed 2 mot's with no sielences and never had ne trouble from the po po's either

Kool mate, so youre saying you have both your front silencers taken off the magnex?

And what do you mean by the cheeru bomb one is that what back box you where running?

I just dont want to go and spoil my exhaust by doing this!

your number plate is too low

Think im gonna go and get the large silencer removed and see how it goes!

there was 3 sielencers on mine one at the front which i removed
the cherry bomb one in roughly the middle
and the back box which i removed i left the cherry bomb one on

as for number plate itll be moved when i flush the tail gate eventually :lol:

Ok cheers mate i will go ahead and get the small one removed, just to prove i am a total geek and to make sure i do it right heres a little diagram before i go and get the job done!

if your putting the valver lump in the car keep the zorst as it is then see how you like the sound. If not to your taste then modify the zorst.

Do you cruise about Stirling or Falkirk?? your car looks familiar.

Nah mate im from paisley and mostly cruise about paisley/glasgow center area.

The valver lump is for my other nova project i have started the zorst is for the 1.6 runabout :)

Mine looks pretty much the same, except for a 1 inch thick layer of mud and crap...damn country roads and winter weather! :lol:
