New wide arch kit coming out. I wonder how much interest there is.
I know people would need to see it first but the idea is to do a small survey to see how many are interested in a wide arch kit before seeing pictures and how many would be after seeing the kit.
Any one who's game for this?
I'm thinking of getting a wide arch kit for my hatch, but tbh I think i'd like to see a couple of pics of it first to get a rough idea of the quality and the style (i.e. the arch size - larger arch bulges or just flared out further)
quality is down to how well you fit it. no wide arch kit will bolt on and look good.
click below to see mine. Pro-Tec motorsport kit and by no means tidy out of the mould.

The car is not quite finished. It's just been sprayed and is being rebuilt
I'll try and sort some pictures for later today only one problem I don't know how to put them up on the forum so if there are any volunteers who will host them let me know

i'd like to see a wide arch kit that isn't as wide as the ones out allready.
one that keeps the novas boxy lines but makes them say an inch wider

agreed, something a little more subtle than the current wide arch kits.

Yep me too. I would like a kit thats around 10mm-20mm wider, rather than 100mm that most of the kits seem to be.
If one was produced i'd defo be interested :!:

Dave GSI Nova Neil and Slim Jim Sorry to disappoint
This kit is definately wide arch and the idea was to get rid of the boxy shape. I understand that there are going to be people who will either love it or hate it at the end of the day everyone has different tastes, if not we may aswell stop modifying.
How many of you liked the Project Salm Astra for example I'm sure that there where those who did and those who did not

will be lookin for some wide arches for an other project 8)
do these arches carry on the traditional shape nova arches just widened or are they round and bubbly :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:
p.s get some pics up 0X

They are round and bubbly. The front arch panel goes up to the top of the wing and the rear arch panel goes uo to the window it also incorporates the side skirt.
The horizontal creases on both the front and rear arches dissapear.
If it wasn't for this blasted weather we're having I would have sorted some pics

Yes,
That's the first one that we did but the owner disappeared after saying that his mate was spraying it for him.
so we had to do another one which is an improvement. We also done a full fibreglass bonnet with a bulge and vent to the back.

It looks really good but i can't understand why you would want to make a nova look like a saxo. It would be cheaper to just buy one! :|
i think it is very well done, looks smart, but i dont like the styling of it, the round arches dont suit the car as nova's are flat and square, A+ on effort though.

Just needs some clear rear's and a badboy bonnet... And some mirrors lol.

I think it looks cool. Front arches look good, rear ones look a bit wierd, but I think thats because I'm not used to seeing them like it.
Needs some bloddy large rims on it though.
Think it could do wouth different front lights and rear lights to.
I think as you said it will be love it or hate it.

how to ruin a nova in one easy kit :(
i really dont like it those round arches spoil the novas nice look. im damn sure i wouldnt waste my money on that kit.
?Marty?
03-02-04, 04:15 PM
i really like it, but as has been said - why not just buy a saxo as that is what it looks like.
The wheels are also WAY too small for that kit on that car.
Think it could do wouth different front lights and rear lights to.
but then it would look nothing like a nova?
I think it looks well done but as many have said u would be cheaper to buy a saxo
and imo i would rather keep the lines of the nova
I've been driving this car last night. It was collected yesterday from Sabre in stockport. I'll get some better pics up on Saturday.....

IF you are going to those exrtremes I just reckon that the lights should be changed to.
Make everything work together as I think the standard lights dont work with the kit.
That car was on this site before it was finished and the first bloke sold it if i remember.

well the idea was to try somthing dif,and thats what they have done..Not for me it has none of the sweet sexy arch lines that we all know and love..but well done for trying...i think you can tell you will not be selling any of these kits to anyone on hear!..sorry
but if you sel the parts of kit in seperate state i think you may sel some of the rear bumper..thats all though.... :|

Thanks you for your comments on the car, those good and bad. I think for those of you, who don?t like it at the moment, give it time and it may grow on you. No one has ever done something like this to a Nova before, so it will take a bit of getting used to.
The car has plenty room for improvement just like anyone?s. If you love modifying your car that much, then your car is truly never finished. It has taken me 3 years since buying the car to get it where it is now and still I have a lot more to do before I am happy with the whole car. But has far as the kit, body work, and paint goes I can?t fault the work Sabre have done on it.
Since those pictures were taken the car has already made some improvements, it now has new wing mirrors and 20mm spacers on the rear. I will get some more up to date pictures on here as soon as I can.
Oh and why would I want to buy a Saxo?????
Sorry I didn't come round to take those pics mate, I went on a stag party!!!
I'll come round soon and get em so you can post it up proper...

I can't make my mind u... the fibreglass needed some serious work before painting i feel... unless its the image quality...
Just think people should stop wanting to make nova's modern by changing the swage line but change minor parts of the car to modernise it...
Maybe if i wasn't bored of seeing flip paint i might like it more and the fact that i'm getting all wound up ready to go ice hockey training then i might not be in such a bitchy mood

at the end of the day yo uhave a very individual nova there. And as u say there is always room for improvement to any car and that u will always find something to change.
I like wot has been done. Does take a bit of getting used to, but its looks good.
Thats If you like that type of thing as I know alot of people on here dont.
Good look with the car, hope u put some more pics up soon

i proper proper proper proper proper proper love it.
only thing is.... you can only do it on the mk 1 nova caus the mk 2 novas arches are completely different.
i would spend endless amounts of money to make it look like that. if your driving towards someone they'll be like, heavy saxo.....
....then when they look at the back they'll be like 'nova? wot the fcuk!!'
thats how i want people to look at my car, like not be able to work out wot it is!!
i reckon we'll see this car in total vauxhall shortly.
how much is the kit+fitting then?
Fergie.
dsprint
17-02-04, 06:00 PM
Cheers Fergie,
The kit is ?1000 inclusive of vat fitting and painting around ?2000 depending on colour etc. The car would need a full respray so a colour change would be ideal
scott.parker
17-02-04, 06:53 PM
?2000!!! why do that when you could sort out a really good engine for this price, puls you would make the nova look like a dam SAXO!!

dam yeah ive done a sh1t load of structual work and modid and restored the body, and resrayed it,pluss the coast of car and everything on it and it only around this sort of price! 3k
but what makes me laugh most is why you would wish to ruin the most sexy box arch ever, and make it look like a SAXO!!
DSPRINT>>>>>> Who are you at Sabre????
NovaSkyline!
18-02-04, 10:35 AM
I can?t remember seeing a Saxo that has a Skyline front bumper, a GTiR spoiler, a custom rear bumper like this one, a custom fibreglass bonnet like this one and most of all, Saxo?s don?t come as standard with arches as big as these in fact they don?t come with any arches as standard! And even vtr arches are no were near as big or as ?sexy? as these!
And if you have spent ?3k on your WHOLE motor it must look like a pile of sh!t either that or you have ram raided Halfords.

18-02-04, 11:05 AM
is the kit custom made... or is it a modded saxo big arch kit....
the main prob i see with it is no design lines... the arches don't look like they are designed round the wheels... making the high point of the arch lean forwards (same problem is on the saxo kit)..... look at all the wrc kit cars
this works....

this is true some ppl"no names mentoined" dont like mine, but im not slaging it off, more just saying it dosent look at all right on the nova..i mean if you wanted a car that had this sort of style arch why not just try find one simaler, the nova arches are spot on as they are,hey i never said the front or back bumper was sh1t,i would have one of them rear bumpers, think it's smart, not sure on the front? but the arch it's not right for the car IMO,im just saying it looks to me like a wide arch kit of a saxo..i really think it could look the dogs on say something like a corsa! now that would work as they allready have round arches.. well look i have tryed to word my thoughts better, lees offensive... :)

maybe the pics don't do it justice, idon't know, but after seeing these latest pics i don't like it one bit.
The lines of the kit, angles, and shape, don't match the car AT ALL.
I can appreciate what you were trying to do, but i don't think it works.
dan_mk1
28-02-04, 11:51 AM
i dont understand why you would do that, if you want a saxo buy a saxo, if you want a wide arch nova buy a nova and get a proper wide arch kit, that kit looks rank! you know you could have bought a sax vts for 3k and it would have looked the same?
the bumpers are good, really like the back one and think you could make some money selling it all separatly. The arches just dont work tho, i would have the proper nova wide arch kit anyday and save a shed load of money for better looks.
?Marty?
28-02-04, 07:46 PM
the front bumper has too many apertures. smooth over the two small vents at the top, and get rid of the small vent just at the top of the main central vent (so it's just an rectangle shape, rather than how it is now) and you'll have yourself a nice front bumper.
Cant make my mind up, lot of work though
Dare-devil
29-02-04, 08:42 AM
I think it looks cool. 8) but i wouldn't put it on my own nova..
Maby if the front bumper were made for normal arches i would get 1.. :D
the job seems to be done well but curvy arches do not suit a car thats got nothing but box arches and straight lines to be seen.
It would be like puttin nova arches on a newer corsa....
dave.gsi
