Hi all,

Ive been browsing the featured cars, and noticed some guys have painted their mk1 dash in places..

I was just wondering what ind of paints are required for this, does it have to involve taking the whole dash out, or could i paint it on with it already fitted?

Where could i get the paints from also..

You can buy plastic paint from most good car accessory shops.

u can try it all in but it will take a lot of skill to get the paint in the right spot and alot on masking up so it dont go everywhere

much easy and quicker to take out

hope it helps

It may be easier to just get a new dash :) There are always dashes for sale in the for sale forum. Keep your eyes peeled.

i have a very nice glovebox if you would like to buy it - i dont have a use for it anymore it really does look smart in a car. i only removed it cos i wanted a gsi dash.

sublte styling like this is the way to go IMO you dont want tins of paint splattered here there everywhere inside.

IMO it does look good. those fotos were a bit to close up to show the overall view, but it was nice and subtle. and the only time ive ever seen stuck on film look half decent :!:

it dosent look out of place in the dash unlike other things you could do with paint!

IMO doing it in the right shade of blue looks far beter than doing it in red, mine was done in vaxhall regatta blue and looked sweet
but now the dash is out and im trying to get a GSI one b4 the car is back on the road(out of bodyshop)
