i got a bumper off of a fiat tipo and cut the bumper in half horizontally
then measured it to fit the standard bumper
then cut it in the middle to fit
it was alot bigger before it was cut down but i seems to go with the shape of standard bumper

done the same with the back
i used the back from a fiat tipo and cut it down and fibreglassed it togeither

ill get pics of it tomoz if ya want

scott.parker
09-02-04, 09:06 PM
?125...thats well cheap! :o
tell you what mate i aint checked this for a while! you have been busy..
that rear looks well smart mate, carnt wait to see it finished.
oh what size wheels are going on,and how mutch you doping it by? cus if you dont do big wheels but go low i think you may want to make the front bumper not so close to the flor1.. :D
keep us updated m8

badnova
09-02-04, 09:13 PM
thinking of around 18/19s
dont quite know yet
any suggestions would be good
and as u say if i lower it the front and back bumper will most prob touch the floor so thats out the question but big rims seem an option

i have been very busy as u said
out most nights till 10
getting cold again now so i cant stay out as late

badnova
09-02-04, 09:14 PM
thinking of moding the arches so it looks lower as well but not sure yet what to do if i do

scott.parker
09-02-04, 09:18 PM
well if ur going biger than 17" you will need some coil-overs..
as for lowering just do it 40mm,and mod ur arches hell why not,you started so you may as well finish!

badnova
09-02-04, 09:21 PM
might add a inch or 2 to the arch to make it lokk very lower and smooth it all in
if i can get away with it i dont really want to lower it

y would i need coilover if i get more than 17s

(just remember im still learning)

scott.parker
09-02-04, 09:29 PM
well on the normal type suspension, your spring cup would touch on anything biger like 18",trust me i have 17" on and it sit only an inch of it,so it would or should touch,oh and no wider than 7" or you need to mod the iner arch! :)

badnova
09-02-04, 11:12 PM
i get ya cheers mate

djp_y2k
10-02-04, 11:08 AM
when i first put the 18's on my car I had the original struts on the car.

The wheel just cleared the platform. Never had any problems, but then the wheels were on ly on for a month..

U will definately need coilovers for 19's upwards, but I would reccomend them for 18's to just to be safe.

Unless ur kit is going to be big and fat and would only suggest 18's other wise the wheels may start to look to big for the car if you know what I mean

badnova
10-02-04, 12:45 PM
if i get bigger than 17s wil the car go fatser then what it say on the speedo

scott.parker
10-02-04, 08:25 PM
Ah well i was having this one out with a m8 the other night in the pub, and im sure it dose cus there is a grater circumference to the wheel so the area being coverd in one revolotin of the wheel on a 17" or 18" is more than the standard 14" the cars speedo was set to..if im right could some1 say so.. :)

badnova
10-02-04, 09:02 PM
that is exactly what i thougt
readin the max power haynes manual
it says it in there

djp_y2k
11-02-04, 11:13 AM
the larger the wheels over the standard size, the more the speedo will be out. It will read faster but I'm not sure by how much. Never actually attempted to set mine up yet

badnova
16-02-04, 05:06 PM
can u change this so it reads right

djp_y2k
16-02-04, 05:10 PM
sorry my last post said that ur speedo will read faster than ur going with bigger wheels.

Thats wrong. I meant that u will be going faster than ur speedo sys.

E.g, if ur speedo is reeding 70, u could be going 80.

badnova
16-02-04, 05:25 PM
i got ya

can that be changed so it is correct

djp_y2k
16-02-04, 05:40 PM
I dont know sorry.

I would have thought it could be adjusted somehow.

epo
16-02-04, 07:11 PM
surely its just a matter of alterin ur needles

badnova
17-02-04, 08:15 AM
i htink it a bit harder than that coz below 20 i would think its the same
but higher than that it would change quite alot

badnova
21-02-04, 01:47 PM
think ill just get 17s on

but the question is what ones should i get

ou guys have any ideas
