ignition barrel help

my ignition barrel is fucked ( i think) well when i turn the key to start the car it turns over if i let go of the key its stays there turning over ???? i have to turn it back why would it do that ? ive got a 1.2i nova k reg could i take the barrel outta that and put it into my mk1 are they the same and how hard are they to change?? wish id kept my gsi no problems :x

yeh just swap them... couling off... ign position2 push bar into hole

cowling off - plastic around igntion
put the key in and turn it to second click
if u look on the cylinder where the barrel goes in there will be a hole find something to push into it (e.g small allen key) this will release the barrel, then pull it out and slide new 1 in :D
