Take one light bulb, a glass and some water. Fill the glass with the water and place the bulb in the water so the metal part is covered. Place in a microwave and the bulb will light up! It does work! A friend told me and couldnt belive it!
I accept no responsibility for your microwave blowing up and never suggested that you do this. But it does work! Have a laugh when you are drunk!!

most modern microwaves can handle metal
mine tells you in the manual u should put metal foil over the edges or large square items to stop the corners burning
and it also says u can put those metal chinese/indian takeaway dishes in
ive also accidentally left a spoon in there too and its fine ;)
well go give it a try then!
