wont start up

my nova wont start up when i turn the key it clicks and then dont make any other sound my mate thinks its the statrer motor do you think he is right?

clicking noise is usually the starter motor, get a peice of wood and a hammer. knock the wood into the starter with the hammer, this usually helps. failing that it could be totally knackered.

or a dead battery...

turn on the ignition on and flick on the headlights blowers and rear screen heater and make sure it doesnt all dim out in a few seconds if it doesnt battery is ok

try putting the car in 3rd gear and rocking it bacwards and forwards

that doesnt work then get a rubber mallet and whack the starter and solenoid while turning the key

if ur battery has gone it might be the alternatoir playing up, but its more likely to be starter motor like they say.
