Still dont know what to do with me engine. Ive got a gte engine and was gonna put a 16v head on it but seems theres a lot more work than origionally thought. Have looked at the turbo route and now just wanted to see how you guys have tunned your 1.6 8 valves. Wanna get around 160bhp if thats possible.

How much money are you willing to spend?

Money isnt really a problem so any suggestions welcome. Im getting the head gasflowed and cam reprofiled for fairly cheap. Also im getting it superchipped. My dad was saying that he would uprate the injectors. Can you get tb's for ?300 if you install them yourself?

160bhp will cost you ?2k+, or ?1k+ if you get most parts second hand

it will be hard to get over 135bhp using the standard injection even with bigger injectors

I'd have thought it would cost him more than that if hes thinking of tuning a standard 1.6 8v engine.

No JIm, they are fair estimates if you are doing the work yourself. Pay someone else to do it and it costs alot more.

Leave the injectors alone if you are only changing the cam and having the head done.

There are many ways of tuning the engine, but you want to decide how much you can spend, and what you hope to achieve and then have a conversation with someone who has hands on experience with tuning the 1.6.
