need help with clocks

hi i got mrk1 sr clocks i put them in my nova to trie and get the rev counter to work my plug did not fit right so i got it to fit and wired a green wire to the coil.but when i started the engine the battary light stay on it looks like to me the wireing is wrong.but now i am buying mrk2 sri dials off ebay will i have to rewire them too.because the dials are about ?40 and i do not no if i can rewire them
my car is mrk2 nova with 14 pin

you need the plugs that go with the dash ie.. if you try plugin ya standared plug into ie.. a didgy dash the same will happen hazzard lights will come on and it work work get the right plug and rewire it ;)
