View Full Version : Latest pics of valver conversion
The engine bay has now been welded (thanks 2 dan16v) and ive spent the weekend sealing it and spaying it. Im quite pleased with the results considering i spayed it with cans.
Should have the engine ready to go in next weekend!

i was under the impression 1.8 / 2.0 8v's didnt hit the chassis leg anyway?/
Is that what's known as "Seam Welding the Engine Bay",
just going over the spots welds with a seam weld & then sealing them ?
Do you have a strengthening kit ?

thats what i thought
Ive only seam welded around the strut tops and engine mounts, the chassis legs will be stitch welded from inside the arches.

have you welded the legs to the bulkhead?
Yeah we are going to stitch weld them from inside the arches.
ahh!! i remember a certain quote!
TWAG "dan my engine bay will be as good if not better than yours"
judging by the pics MATT springs to mind
Thats because it had only just been sparayed when i took the pics. Still has to be rubbed back with wet and dry, then laqured, once the paint has hardened:D
Good things come to those who wait
The singer on the paper looks nice  Your car look really clean and nice keep up the good work
