8 VALVE OR 16 VALVE

Im now really confused whether or not this Corsa SRI i am about to buy is 8 or 16 valve, the guy at the garage is useless and i have been confused at what parkers have said.

This is an Lreg that run untill july1994 i think.

Anyone know if the L reg was 8 or 16 valve.

look at the engine!!!
if its DOHC THEN ITS 16V
IF ITS OHC ITS 8V

L reg should be 8 valve

its m reg onwards is 16 valve. only k and L were 8 valve.

isint the widith of the engine twice the size aswell?

If I was buying a car from a garage and the salesman didn't know the difference between 8v and 16v, I wouldn't buy the car!!! :roll:

thanks guys, this garage is really dodgy, theres no way im buyin the car now, he informed me at the weekend that the price was incorrectly stated and it was ?500 more!!, just because he knew i was a certain buyer he thought he cud get away with it.

im not having it, told him to stick it, tried negotiating but i was having none of it, also the car sounded dodgy on my second test drive.

Moving on from this, this car is 8 valve as i have established from u guys. Will i notice much difference in performance with the 16 valve, accleration and top end, i know that there is only 7BHP difference.

Any help would be great
