Right

First which 2(?) letters are supposed to be printed to the speed sender for the 8V dash to work from it.

Second which astra had the electronic sender that will work with the 8V digi dash?

Please help as I would really like to fit a digi dash that will tell me how fast (or slow) I am going! You get bored of watching the rev counter!

Both 8v and the rarer 16v digi dash were present in MK2 Astra GTE, you need the speed sender from a MK2 Astra GTE.

Thanks, it would make sense to have the right one on the car with the dash in!

I had one with it which didn't give any signals out at all, then bought one from vaux and they got the wrong one. There are three fitted to a GTE, one is not produced any more and the other two are, one is ?50 and the other ?80 i think.

What I meant was if there was one one the newer astras that use a digital signal from the sender to work dash and send info to the ECU

its been said(aragorn) that you can use the sender from a 1.2i nova on the 8v dash which makes sense as the senders have the same letters printed on them

correct my dear watson. 1.2i nova senders are suitable for the 8v type tick digital dash.

oi who u callin watson mike! secondly the tick style rev counter isnt related to the engine type at all. both style rev counters were found in both the 8v and 16v gte's so i guess its pot luck to tell if u have a 8v or 16v dash unless u have the tranducer lettering to hand

the official stance was tick is 8v and uses the 6 pulse AA coded (iirc) sender

the circle was 16v and uses a 16pulse sender the code of which im not certain on

thanks aragorn, it is all making sense now, the 1.2i one works?! I have heard it works at half pulse to the correct 8V one (AA). Which means it may work with the 16V one. I will check my sender printings and get the right one now

thanks
