1.6 16v Corsa or Astra

Could anyone tell me Which 1.6 16v engine is better and what are the postetives and negetives about each one.

as i understand mate c16xE only found in early corsa gsi's is the best as it has no air flow meter or sensor on the airbox, or something, and is 109bhp. the rest; later corsa gsi's, astras, vectra, tigras, etc have the x16xe which has this useless part fitted standard and have 106bhp. its not just a case of removing the useless sensor as its all part of the electrics/ ecu/brain whatever. something like that.

correct, probly find the c16xe is best.

try and stick away from the x16xel as there only 100bhp, and stay away from the later engines with built in imobilisers circuits!

Oh yes without a doubt, you can tune the C16XE/X16XE to 200+ bhp without a Turbo.

all depends how much u wanna spend really.
if you got an x16xe and got a velos torq tube or the airbox/inlet replacement for about ?400 youd probly end up with around 130bhp which aint bad really :)
