i'm due to be getting a set of cobra monaco seats very soon but they are not coming with subframes.

just wondering what the cheapest but most sensible way is to attach these to the car. i have no welding expierence by the way. have been offered a set of universal runners but the need "the legs modified"?

the seats dont need to tilt as i have no rear seats.

anyone got any ideas

cheers

LOL, so really, youre reply was of no use to him, lol.

Not sure why the universal runners will need modifying, as they should be well, "universal" :?:

I take it you mean these seats?

Phone Cobra and see what they suggest. You should be able to get some proper subframes that will only need holes drilled in order to secure them to the car.

right the origional strips of metal that come on the monacos that go front 2 back have been welded on to another set of strips of metal left 2 right which inturn are welded on to the sub frames

if that makes ne sence

buy some universal subframes from cobra or somewhere like demon tweeks. they dont need any modifying at all and will simply bolt into the standard postion at the front and you drill two holes in the rear to attacth them. takes about an hour each side

Put my Monacos in on sunday, and it does take a while. But thats only because I had to bolt the seats in, mark the carpet, (probably didnt need to, but i did anyway!) take seats out, cut the carpet. Put the seats back in, mark where the holes are, take the seats out, drill the holes....*yawn* and then FINALLY got to put the seats back in properly. Then I realised the floor is flimsy as crap and is gonna need more support

My subframes were from A1 Motorsport, and they bolt onto the seat fine.

trial fit the seats (bolt the front two bolts in the standard position). mark the holes at the back with a pen checking you wont drill through fuel lines or other stuff. take them out and drill through the carpet/floor. put the seats back in with big washers on the rear two bolts.

figure out a safe place to put your seat belt buckle/harness strap
