im in for buying audio for the purple one.

i was thinking about a twin 12" setup with speakers in the doors and a set of tweeters and a headunit and amps to run it all.

basically i wanna know wot evryone rekons. r the power ratings a good guide to go by - or is it a marketing ploy where a 600w sub is much better in reality than one rated at 1000w peak? if so what am i looking for?

would a really high power sub be better than two lesser qualitly ones? im after pure music quality not fancy looks.

also wot about a pair of 10" subs? can i get a pair to match the 12"ers for the low bass - which is what im really after. obv space is limited as there goin in a nova with rear seats.

also how do the power ratings on the amps work? how much power wud i need to power the subs u rekomend?

any buying advice wud be much appreciated.

can u rekomend a nice low bass setup (the lot, including head unit and speakers) with where to mount it all for not alot of money. around ?500 in parts - or am i being unrealistic?

for ?500 you aint going to get anything to write home about. well you will, but not something you could brag about.

for ?500 and to buy it off the shelf i would look for the following.
motorworld have a 10" splx kit (300 watt) with amp and wireing for ?99, or a 12" kit (500 watt) again with wireing and amp for ?120.

a decent set of 5 and 1/4 components for the door around ?100 mark, you could get a 2nd amp 2nd hand to run that with a set of 6x9's in the parcel shelf (they retail around 50-70 quid now, even some jbl's).

this would leave you around ?220 for a head unit, look in websites like bassjunkies etc and see if they have any on offer with atleast a 4x45 - 50 output. you can run the standard speakers off that.

this is prob a basic set up for you that will deliver a decent amount of music and still leave you room in your boot for a bag of peanuts.

hope this helps.

ide alpine headunit (whatever you can afford), then look at jbl/vibe/ sony/kenny/pioneer for sub&amp combos. with alot of places wiring and boxes are free or half price or something if you buy sub and amp combo. look at same gang for speakers.

When buying amps, subs and speakers, ignore the part that says 1200 watts and all that ridiculously (spelling) high wattage, u should go by the rms wattage.

You will want a set of speakers in the rear as all people in the back will hear is the subs.

Also if you are looking for qaulity then avoid all those cheap 2600 watt amps on ebay and the splx stuff they sell at motorworld.

Try bass junkies, they will sort you out with exactly what you need for a good price

Looking pretty good,
it would blow all SPLx stuff out the water anyway,
if any thing i would try and spend a bit more on the headunit, for something like a Kenwood/Alpine headunit, with 2RCA outputs if possible
