according to some books you can trubo on T40's, but you need to recondition them and fit "special" gaskets, and have them setup rather well, and i dont think even the "pros" would be able to get it spot on

seen carbs turbo'd loads of times. the first escort rs tubos had a modified weber on them.

twin carbs are a bit on off with the power ive heard tho.

ive got to build a box arround the trumpets which has an input pipe which you then connect to all the normal turbo gubbins. it is easier to tubo carbs than injection as you can tune them to give more fuel rather than having to get some management system

yes its possible not sure on the exact details but cars such as the metro 6r4 and some lotus iirc ran carb turbos they had a special fuel chamber in the carb iirc so you would need to apply this principle to the twin carbs then get it on a rolling road for setup and you should have a nice powerful car, i think theres a bit about single carb turbos in the 1600cc tuning guide at the top of this forum or in the articles section somewhere that explains how they work more. i would not say carb turbo's are alot better than an injection system because you will get fueling issues as you cannot control it aswll as an engine management system can unless of course you got you're self a stand alone fuel management system to control the carb/turbo fueling

Yes you can turbo carbs, the old Lotus Esprit even had a turboed dellorto twin 40 setup. The main pain with turboing carbs is you have to get the carbs machined to take extra seals and gaskets, because the pressure of the turbo will make the petrol come out of all sorts of places on the carbs where it wouldn't under N/A pressures. I've got a fair bit more info on this in a book somewhere, but you probably would be better off sticking with injection if your trying to make it a budget system. With injection, because it's been done so often, the information on how to fool the fuelling and stuff like that is more readily available. Hope that helps!
