in the pm page there is the option next to user name to find a user name
if you don't know the users full nova but know a partial bit of it (in this case stu)
you can hit this button then in the box that appears enter 'stu*' this will bring up all pleople who's usernames start with 'stu' then pick from the list
easy as that then if all is turned on in his profile he'll get a message saying he has a pm :D
