didnt see it but on my local news this morning there was a story bout a 12 yr old lass getting killed by a nova.

the 22yr old driver and passenger were 'unhurt but shaken up' makes me sick because it seems obvious that he was one of the minority that gets us lot a bad name by driving like a tosser and that this accident could have probably been avoided.

There's a time and a place for thrashing your car

Some people just dont seem to realize that  IDIOTS

worst thing is, we are all steeotyped under the same thing.
if someone actually took the time to monitor this site they'd understand.
the prob lies with the fact, the nova is one of the first hot hatches for any young driver to have.

the history of man should be re-wrote

chimp---hunchback-----boy-----nob head in a nova------a dad-----volvo driver-----brand spanks car----- till death!

(no offence to any young driver on here. just in post's on here you can tell you respect your car enough, not to go driving like a nob)

this really p***s me off, im sick of us Nova entheusiasts being stereotyped and thrown in the same hat as the joy riders and common thefts!

we get put down in car mags and on other car sites, how dare our fellow car entheusiasts judge us when they dont even f***ing know us, its small minded and pathetic!

i dont just own a nova because its cheap to maintain and cheap to insure, but i do ACTUALLY like novas, i like the fact that so much can be done to them, i like the shape of the wheel arches and i like the simplicity just functional usage of the car!

then a handful of 17 yr olds come along and ruin it for us!

you dont have to look far to see the pride and passion involved in owning a nova!

there are ppl on here who are prime examples of Nova dedicated ppl who take their modding seriously, as well as nova owners wo have had their cars featured in magazines, surely that is worth a bit of respect?

we are head hunted by the police, the local communities, the media, and any other f***er who like to find a reason to moan for no reason!

the deaths caused by 'boy racers' street racing on a friday, saturday and sunday nights in designated cruise strips are alot low to that compared of deaths caused by drunk/drug driving, old ppl and woman (sorry, couldnt resist!)

well im only 17 and own a nova, but after already having one car accident (which wasnt my fault) it made me realise and im not a 'boyracer' as everyone labels me. it just pisses me off just because we own a car we like and a car that can easilly be made to like nice were labelled as something that isnt true. mind u saying that theres a white GTE round by me and a kids driving it about with no tax or insurance and he's thraping it around here... wait till i get his number plate ha ha i will then buy the car as stolen and recovered off the pigs... i wish.lol

The only funny thing about Novas is when the likes of CP or myself get stopped and then they see we're "NOT" 17....

there is never a time for driving like a twat but the time for driving fast is on a track. for the sake of ?80 - ?150 it worth it. no pigs or dickheads pulling out on you. just a little thought from me

i like the way they put in the footage of the guy getting run over by a stolen car. how is that remotely related to cruising?

Didnt you know Dave.....if you drive a modded car your a criminal round here now

The police arnt interested in prosecuting the nob heads who are doing the handbrakes etc cos it would involve "work" to catch them....

Its much easier to cum and harass people sittin off havin a chat about cars

well im 17 (18 in feb), and i can not really thrash my car, its only a 1l 0-60 in 3 weeks :D

but saying that even if i have a 2.0 i still would not thrash it because it cost so much money todo

and if you going that fast you can not see what chicks are eyeing you up

Well whats the point in doin a 2.0 conversion if your not going to thrash it?

( i mean on a track btw )

people put bigger engines in there cars to go faster, so if your not going to drive it fast then whats the point in changing a small engine for a much bigger one :?:

Luckily most of the people on here use there cars @ places like santa pod ect.

What makes me laugh is that things like this get posted and then everyone starts saying " i never drive fast". we all do it from time to time so there just lying to themselves.

Im not trying to say that driving fast on public roads is good either but what i said above is true and we all know it.

Sorry, i did mean in the text of young, inexperianced drivers, i wasnt targeting a generation because of their age!

take 14/15/16 yr ols kids for example, they are steeling cars, and then thrashing them at our cruises and meets, therefore, ruining it for us cruise entheusiasts!

at one of our local cruises a couple of years ago there was a knacker ford escort bein ragged 2 shit the engine was fu*ked by the time they'd finished bootin hell out of it up and down the car park
as soon as a cop car turned up they bailed legged it across a field just left the car it was there for wekks after that
thought thats deffo nicked

at another one an xr2 was brought down rolled on it side by a load of lads then they had the clever idea of settin fire 2 it

those people spoilt it for us we was all havin a laugh in the car park sat talkin playin choons then the above people turned up

Chris

i used to enjoy goin to cruises, but now i cant be bothered most of the time. when i do go now (rarely) the best ones i find are the ones that have police presence. Then what you get is people parkin up, lookin round others cars, chatting and playin choons. In my opinion thats what cruisin is all abt, not nicking cars n trashin them whilst people laugh and cheer. All i have to say to them people is how would you feel if it was your car being ragged around n gettin trashed

dave.gsi
