dont know which bits you need exactly but i think you need new linkage.
i think there might be a notch on the four speed stick to prevent you pushing it any further to the right, and also i dont know if there is enough throw in the 4 speed linkage to select fifth.
someone else should be able to tell you more
Im having the same problem mate, 5 speed box on gte engine with 5 speed linkage all set up right but cant get the stick over into 5th, and its not anything on the gearstick under the gator thats stoppin it.

it does look like there is a plastic/rubber thing that gets in the way when tryin to go to 5th. dont know what would happin if i just cut it off??
just cut that nylon knuckle thing off ftom under the gaitor that will cure it

usually problems engaging fifth gear also you can get round by pushing down stick and go into fifth same as reverse, i know i have heard of that before and also stu did it for a while till he bothered to fix it

hrm im running an unmodified 4speed stick and linkage
i just followed the haynes manual guide to setting the gear selector (ie the 5mm drill bit in that hole in the b0x etc) and it worked fine
