think the best thing you can do is go n fill yer car up with ?20 of fuel, and record how many litres!
i think you should allow a bit more than ?20 just to be on the safe side, like a ?25 or a ?30 tank!
A fabricators place will be able to do all the maths for you, when we get tanks made up for Hydraulic units, a fabricator usually comes out, and does all the measuring!
Cant quite remember off hand how you cube it, i aint done that sorta maths since school, im sure if i put my mind to it, il do it lol

i know demon tweeks makes baffled tanks to order may trie them

or i could use a washing up bowl and not go round corners fast!!

?20 of petrol is approx 25 litres.

10cm x 10cm x 10cm tank would hold 1 litre so you would need

10 x 10 x 250 but that is a bit of a poo size so try

50 x 50 x 10 cm would hold 25 litres which when you think about it is actually really small.

(i think)

Do ya fancy a Kevlar one?

I might be able to help you out if you do.. my mate works for ATL racing fuel cells, makes them for the various formula 1 teams etc etc

depends if u want a round tank or not

say u wanted a 30litre tank:

lets say the wheel well is 50cm's across

then for a round tank to fill it you need to do Pi*r*r (3.14*25*25)

that gives u the area of the base of the tank (in this case 1960cm squared)

then say its 10cm's deep: 1960 * 10 = 19600CC or 19.6litres

so for 30 litres we'd need to do 30000/1960 = 15cm

so in this case the tank could be a cylinder with 50cm diameter and 15cm high and it would store 30litres of fuel

might have to change some of those numbers if the diameter of the wheel well is different from 50cm

you gonna have an external swirlpot? might be cheaper! youll need a mounting bracket for the pump n filter also! if you design 1, then they can do the graft n the maths for you!

why are the lines so expensive? do they have to differ as there in the car?

bearing in mind im a marine pipefitter do fittings such as triple loks and swage lock compresion fittings can be perminantly borrowed from work

breeny that would be nice but kevlar!! id need a bank balance of an f1 team 2!

ste do you know off hand what bosch fuel pump is rated to 400bhp? i remember it being along the lines of an ad990? the tabs have snapped off my std gsi 1 so i need a new one to run the car in on

internal or external?

if your running in a standard one should be fine

the pump is external, is there any mot regulation with having a tank inside the car?

i think the pipes can't pass through the bulkhead etc with just gomets.. they have to have connectors
