How do i remove the rivets from my washing machine? lol The hinge broke, so i bought a new one but the old one's rivetted on.

I assume i have to drill the old rivets out? What size drill-bit do i use? i.e. smaller/large/same size as the rivet?

Cheers. lol

You could chizel and the punch them out!
Or use a drillbit slightly smaller, failing that use larger rivets!

I broke the door off my washing machine a few wekks ago, Mum wasnt a happy smurf!
Claimed and got warranty tho!

use a small drill bit and drill out the center of the rivet. it should then just fall off. if you use a drill bit as big as the rivet head. you will make the hole even bigger.

i thought i'd just have a go and see what happens (my usual approach). Used a drillbit slightly thinner and drilled through the center, it fell out and bob's your uncle.

Then i went round the gf's and told everyone there that i ''fixed the washing machine''. lol
