i have just aquired a 2.0xe and am about to strip it for a full rebuild, what i am wanting to know is would i see any gain by using twin 48 carbs over 45's?

what are the pro's and cons of each?

and if you are running either what sort of power are you running?

a mate of mine has ran both 45 and 48s with 285 piper cams he gained about 10bhp on 48s,
you might not quite get that using standard cams though

48s would be overkill in my opinion unless its going to be severley tuned.

chris T car is really tuned and he only runs 45s ! hes hitting 200 bhp!

i saw 48s on a 1.4 sr once lol.

yeah for a mildly tuned xe 45s would be fine but dont turn down a set of 48s tho as they still can be down choked to suite ure engine.

im going to be running 45s on my 2.0 SE motor, ive been told they will be fine for the job.

As i only use 38mm chokes on my carbs, i have no need for 48's.
