As the title says, im new here so id like to say hello :D

Ive just bought myself a Vauxhall Nova 1.4L, its a H reg (mk1). What i want to know is if there is any difference between the 1.4L engine and the 1.4SR? I know the body differences are better interior etc... but what about engine? Also, does anyone have a wiring diagram for the wires that come from the nova to the headunit? Like the colour of the power, earth, speakers etc...

1stly, welcome to the boards. 2nd up the engines are very different, iirc the 1.4l(C14NZ) engine is a single point injection for a start and the sr engine is a carb(14NV) the 1.4l is 60bhp and the sr 72bhp aswell so yes the engines are a bit different although iirc the blocks are the same meaning you could get a sr head/cam/carb/manifolds and you'd be sorted.

as for the stereo wiring off the top my head it goes something like this,

12v+ - red
switched 12v+ - black
ground - brown
headlight display dimmer - grey/green
left front spk - brown/blue and blue
right front spk - brown/yellow and yellow
left rear spk(if applicable) - brown/green and green
right rear spk - brown/white and white

iirc for the speaker wiring the wire thats has a color tracer ie. brown/blue is the negative wire for the speaker
