1.6 GTE into a 1.2 K Reg nova

my current 1.2 engine is nackard n thers a 1.6 GTE engine i can get from scrappers for 70 quid. 1st thing is it worth doin? wot are the negative points of doin it and wot are the main things i need? Cheers.

if your 1.2 is a carb u will need a fuel pump wireing up mate but this isnt hard, and as far as i am aware all the mounts are the same. i would say go for it i was a bit aprehensive about putting a 2.0l8v in my gte but thought it wasnt to bad.

ye if its a carb model youl need to fit a new tank+lines + pump to run this engine! or just fit a 1.4 sr engine?

if its a k reg then its prolly a SPI engine. You will need the fuel tank and pump and fuel lines from the gte donor car aswell.

yes itl fit easy.

the engine+box will go straight in. you will need to do a little bit of wiring, probly 4-5 wires nothing major. the tank will be ok, you can run that engine on that pump. but i would recomend getting a pump from a corsa sri/gsi (cut the plastic tail off it) and use that insted.

use the same exhaust if you like or get a full gte exhaust!

And I'm going to assume that the last time you were on the rollers was before that engine was in the car, 'cos I've been in it and if your car has ONLY 100bhp at the fly, I'll stick my own dick up my arse!!!

i seem to recall that run was done with various sensors malfunctioning (throttle pot?) a half assed fuel map, cam timing half way to china, scabby zorst and some other retarded things ;)
