Hi all!

Im back in town :D ill post a message in muppet tomorow, for those who are the slightest bit intrested what ive been upto

ANYWAY

battery has had it with the cold weather (must be over 2yrs old now ChrisW? - got the receipt somewhere LOL!), can someone tell me what the biggest physical size battery i can fit in my battery tray, and the amp hours of that battery.

i wont be buying a fancy griffin badged one as my scuttle panel cover has come through, so itd be hidden anyway! just need the physical size, amount of amp hours, and possibly the battery code i.e 0A6 or whatever etc etc.

cheers for your help guys
mike

why thankyou :D

car will be a belter...... been collecting parts for it over the winter amongst other things, im buried in them now! i have promised myself i want it ready for this year - if its not it will be up for sale, SO bodyshop time is booked for the new year, all of my new engine / gbox mods are paid for, and any deliverable parts delivered!

i might not be building a car up to brett warbutons or rick drapers, karl rowntrees standards, maybe not even a feature car, but i hope itll be something really worth looking at next year. (oh  and for someone like will to have a good scutinise and find flaws like all the other show cars!! - thats meant as a joke BTW please take in jest!)

theres a lot of things people wouldnt notice id done, for instance a calibra DID (digital clock and temp guage) in place of the original nova clock - looks factory fit, little things like that, but if you look closely youll see some nice touches if you get me.

anyway ill post in muppet later on or tomorow, right now i wana talk batteries  muhahaha

thanks peester

 *remembers the excitement on wills face after finding flaws in cars at VBOA*

cheers for your help. ive dug out my copy of EPC and installed it on my new PC.

biggest battery i can find on a nova is 60 amp as u quite rightly said is on a nova 15D/TD

biggest vauxhall battery i can find listed is a 70amp of a calibra something or other. having said that a nice 55 amp battery off a calibra or mk3 astra, has a waterproof jacket with it

does it fill the tray?

does it fill the tray?

ill take u a pic later gtg to work now out on a job. but pretty much yes.

you can JUST get the bracket on the front with the nut/bolt.

it goes from the black cover that covers the heater motor, to within about 4 inches on the left hand side.

you have to put it in at an angle, the passenger side in first as it wont fit between the scuttle panel and bulkhead, then once the end is far enough in drop the driver side down.

as for tray tray, i asusme u mean the black plastic thing? mines never had one as its been removed by previous owner(s)

you better refit that.. stops the tray getting rusty
